A Mixed Review

Two weeks ago I attended my very first VIB Rouge event at Sephora! I became VIB Rouge last year, and I was so happy to be invited to the event. The event was  really early in the morning before the mall opened. It was a sneak peak of some new products coming out this fall. I was able to bring a guest so I bought my friend Stephanie to come with me. She is a makeup lover like myself so we had a blast swatching, and testing out new items!
I didn't purchase any of the new fall items because I wasn't sure if I really needed any of them, but the things I did pick up were things I had had my eyes on for a while.
At the event they were having demos so it was really great to ask questions and get feedback on different products. At the event there were hairstylists who work with Bumble and bumble and they were showing people who were interested how to use their different products. I have always heard people rave about Bumble and bumble but I was never willing to spend the money because the people who I knew who raved about the products had very different hair textures than me. So when they came out with their curly hair line I was so excited to try it out. A few months ago I did get a 100 point perk of the Bb. Curl (Style) Primer and I really loved it so I did pick up the full size. Well I have since run out, so while at the event I picked up another one as well a few other items the stylist showed me how to use on my hair. I also picked up the Bb. Curl (Style) Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil and the Surf Infusion spray. I am really anxious to try the gel-oil because the texture is so interesting to me, and not like anything I have ever used before. I am a little skeptical on the surf spray because that to me screams dryness and my hair needs so much moisture. The bumble and bumble sales representative that was there ensured me that it won't leave my hair dry or brittle feeling, but will add shine and help lock in moisture. Crossing my fingers it works! Will definitely review it as soon as I start using it!
So I am absolutely am addicted to my Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara, and I am sadly running out of it. I have been wanting to try other mascaras too so I picked up the Sephora favorites Lashstash To Go. I thought it seemed like a great deal because you get 5 minis of different mascaras from different brands. But along with the 5 mini mascaras there is a voucher inside the package that you can turn in for a full size of any of the 5 mascaras for free. All of the mascaras are less than $28 (the price of the kit) but I still think this is an amazing deal. Getting to try 5 mascaras then getting the full size for $28 is so great. Besides the Marc Jacobs one and Too Faced mascaras I haven't tried any of the other ones so I am excited to!
And the last thing I actually purchased was the Benefit Cosmetics Cheekathon Blush & Bronzer palette. I wasn't planning on buying this that day, but the Benefit Cosmetics representative showed my how to make my face look more sculpted using dandelion blush, hoola bronzer, and rockateur blush. Not to blow my own horn, but it looked so amazing on me so I was sold! I snatched this up, and I am so happy I did!
With my points I did pick up a 100 point perk of the Matte Creme Lip Crayon in the shade 'Glace' from Bite Beauty. I do have one already that is almost gone so I am glad they had it as a point perk. I love Bite Beauty, and I especially love their matte crayons. Not too drying, and are really comfortable on my lips. With my purchase I did make VIB Rouge status for 2017 so I got the Rouge gift which is the mini NARS blush in 'Goulue'. Super happy I made VIB Rouge status again, and excited to try a NARS blush. They're really hyped, and shockingly I have never tried a NARS blush!
Also while at the event I got a free 15 minute facial and ton of samples! I got samples of all the products that were used during my facial so that was nice. I am trying to improve my skincare routine so I was so pumped to get all those samples!

I hope Sephora has mor VIB Rouge events because I had a blast!!
Have you ever been to a VIB Rouge event?

This was my very first time ordering from Beautylish, and I must say I am very impressed! Not only is it speedy it is also free with purchases over $35! Even if you don't spend $35 shipping is only $5. So that altogether is a huge plus for me!
With Beautylish you can opt in for text alerts regarding your package, so I got texts of when they received my order, when it shipped, and when it was delivered. I love that! It made me feel really valued as a customer. Another great service with Beautylish is after I received my order an employee from Beautylish texted me asking me how I was enjoying my order, and even told me I could text her anytime to ask her questions. It was so helpful because I asked her about some other stuff I ordered (review coming soon!).
My first order I placed was for the Rae Morris Makeup Masterclass. I saw this book on trendmood's snap chat and instantly fell in love. It might is the most beautiful book I own. I call it my makeup bible because it has so much detailed information plus gorgeous pictures. It is helpful as I navigate through my makeup obsession. I think even if you are a makeup artist you can benefit from this book because of all the information and knowledge Rae Morris shares. The book costs $55 which sounds expensive, but considering how big it is it's worth it. The book is quite large in size, but also volume. It has close to 500 colored pages in it! Impressive!
I haven't read through the whole book yet, but I hope I can improve my makeup skills from reading, and practicing. And I love the images in this book so much I hope it inspires me for my future goals and dreams in life.
Also with my order I got two Bioderma samples! I hear so much hype around Bioderma so I am pumped to try it!

If you haven't ever placed an order with Beautylish I highly recommend it. They ship to so many countries all over the world, and literally have the best customer service I have ever had, and that includes actually shopping in stores too.

If you have the Rae Morris book let me know what you think of it! Or if you have read any other makeup book that is great let me know what they are so I can pick them up!

This is a little late, and the sale is now over, but I wanted to post it anyways for future shopping trip ideas.
Here are the things I picked up on the last day of the sale!

The first thing I picked up is the Sephora Favorites 'Power of the Petal' set. It is a set of skincare products all made with or from plants, flowers, and fruits. To be honest, I only bought it because I wanted the Tsubaki beauty oil from boscia. I am glad I have that beauty oil because I have heard rave reviews on it. And I love miniature sized products for travel so having this set is great! Sadly this set is sold out now, but sometimes the Sephora favorites are sold out online but are still in stores. If you want this set check your local Sephora!
Like I mentioned in my last Sephora haul post I recently got a z palette and I want to fill it up so I bought two more Anastasia Beverly Hills shades. This time I got a beautiful matte shade called 'caramel'. It's a nice warm toned brown and will be perfect for the crease. I picked up another metallic shimmery shade called 'metal'. I think it'll look great when I am tan this summer!
Speaking of summer, I had to buy the Hourglass Ambient bronzer in Luminous Bronze. Kathleen Lights talked about how this bronzer was amazing and made her skin look glowy and bronzed like J Lo. So if Kathleen recommended it I had to pick it up!
Color correcting is all the rage these days so I had to pick up some kind of color correcting product. Since I am new to the color correcting world, and I don't have really any problem areas so I got the Color Correcting Stick by Smashbox. I got the 'look less tired' pencil in the peach color to see if I can cover my light dark circles. Hoping it works!
I have been really interested in Korres skincare since I had a sample of their Greek Yoghurt facial cleanser. Again, like mentioned in my last Sephora post I am obsessing over rose scents so I bought the Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. I want to improve my skincare routine and help my skin be at it's best. So since I usually like to use gels at night, and not creams I only bought the sample size of this to test it before I commit to the full size!
The last things I picked up were lipsticks! I picked up the new Amuse Bouche lipstick in 'Honeycomb'. The hype around these lipsticks is so real so I wanted to be apart of the hype. The other lipstick I bought was Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Satin Kiss Lipstick in 'Praline'. I bought this because Joanna from BronzedBeautyyy on YouTube spoke so highly of it. No one speaks of the Ciate beauty line so I am eager to try it out! I even ordered one of their eyeshadow palettes to do a Ciate brand review post.

I will be reviewing all of these products in the next couple weeks! If you have tried anything I bought let me know your thoughts on it!
And let me know what you picked up in the Sephora sale!

Sorry for the absence from my blog for the past two weeks. I have been very busy with my personal life but I am back! So for a great post back I am posting a haul!
If you are living under a rock, and haven't heard it's the Sephora VIB Rouge then you need to stop reading right now and go to your closest Sephora store!
I am VIB Rouge, and was able to go on the vey first day for first access. I originally had an over $200 list of items I wanted but I decided to control myself and only buy things I genuinely wanted/needed. I am so happy with all my purchases!
I love perfumes, and have been obsessed with rose scent recently so I grabbed the Roses De Chloe rollerball. It is such a beautiful scent, and I am most definitely going to buy the full size when I run out of this rollerball!
As you saw in my last Ulta haul I picked up a Buxom full-on lip cream, and since I loved it so much (full review coming soon) I picked up another one. I grabbed the shade 'Hot Toddy', and it the perfect nude color for my lips. I had my eye on it when I bought Mai Tai, and now that I have it I am so excited. I want to pick up even more colors in the future!
For my birthday one gift I received was an empty z-palette which was too excited for because I have been wanting some of the Anastasia Beverly Hills single pans. I picked up two shades to go in my z-palette. I love the ABH shadows so much!! I plan on filling my whole z-palette with them. I got the shades 'Gleam' and 'Electro'. Oh em gee I am obsessed!! Electro looks bright purple in the pan but has a blue/pink iridescent shine. It is so beautiful. It might be my new favorite eyeshadow which is saying a lot because I usually only love neutrals!
And the last thing I bought is the Sephora Double-Ended Blemish Extractor. I bought it so I could start steaming my face and using it to clear out the blackheads on my nose. I used it once, and I didn't see much results, but maybe I didn't steam my face long enough. My cousin said that extractors really work, so I am excited to keep using it to see more results!

The last couple things I got were point perk items, and a free item for being VIB rouge status. From the point perks I grabbed the new GLAMGLOW peel off mask which I am beyond excited to try, and I got the new Estee Edit 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser. It has good reviews so I am eager to test it out. And the last little perk I got is a Sephora makeup tote. This is my first year being VIB Rouge so I was very happy to be able to get a tote from being at that status.

I am going back to Sephora with my cousin to shop, and will probably pick up a few more items so I will be posting a part 2 haul post!
If you shopped the sale, let me know what you got and what you recommend I try to pick up before the sale ends!

I love Estee Lauder brand of makeup so much. It's such a classy brand and they have so many amazing products. When I saw that they had their Estee Edit line that was featuring special guest editor Kendall Jenner I immediately knew I wanted something from the collection. Kendall Jenner is one of my favorite models, and I love her so much.
So from the collection I decided to pick two of the blushes. I didn't want the eyeshadow palette because I have boughten so many new palettes recently, I wanted to buy something different.
For starters, the price of the blush is $28. It is pretty pricy, but for the brand and the guest editor it is expected. I think you could probably find blushes in very similar shades, for a lot cheaper.
The packaging of the blushes is so cute though. It looks so modern in a silver compact with a spray paint spot on it. It closes with a click, but feels cheap. It is plastic, which from the pictures online I thought that it was metal. And in my coral blush the pan is loose and feels like it'll pop out at any minute. That is a big let down considering I paid $28 for it. The mirror inside the compact, is small and standard with most blushes, so not anything too special.
The two colors I got are 'Coy Coral' and 'Ember Glow'. I love the colors so much. The coral shade is so stunning. I love Coralista by Benefit so much, and this color reminds me of that one only a pinch darker. Ember Glow is so beautiful as well. It is a reddish, brown color, and to me reminds me of Dallas from Benefit. It's funny that both of these blushes remind of me Benefit blushes. They aren't exactly color dupes, but they are just similar and favor each other.
But here are my pro's and con's of these blushes!

PROS:

• Wearable shades for all skin tones
• Cute, small packaging
• Travel friendly
• Blendable
• Very pigmented

Happy Valentine's Day to all! I use to not like Valentine's Day because it was a sad reminder that I was single, but the past few years I have not even cared! And this year was no different, but especially because I just got in the mail my Kylie Lip Kits! I didn't get to order any the first time they were released because they sold out so quickly, so when I saw on the Kylie Lip Kit instagram page that they were restocking the kits, I marked that day in my phone so I could make sure this time I could get one this time! As soon as it went on sale I was super lucky and managed to get two of them!
I decided on Candy K and Dolce K because when the kits originally came out those were the two shades I had wanted. Since I just got them in the mail I haven't tried out the shades, or how they feel on my lips. I just wanted to take some pictures, and put this post up since I am so excited to have gotten my hands on these kits!
I will have reviews on both shades in the next few weeks! I have some other great posts coming up so I will have the reviews as soon as I can!
If you have tried them, and love them let me know! And Kylie said on Instagram that they will be restocking the lip kits about every two weeks, so if I like these kits I will pick up another kit! I have my eye on Posie K!

After placing my order I realized that I forgot to order somethings I had really been wanting so I placed another order (whoops!). In this order I bought another YouTuber's collaboration item with ColourPop. I bought Shaaanox's eyeshadow quad. I am so mad at myself for forgetting to put this in my cart in my first time, but oh well, I have it now! It is so amazing I can't get enough of it. I can't wait to create different looks!
I picked up another lippie stix but in the shade Westie. It is a light pink with purple undertones. I have yet to wear it out yet, but it does look great on! And lastly I picked up another blush! I have been using my Coralista blush by Benefit like crazy and it is close to being empty. So to replace my $28 Coralista blsuh I picked up Fox. It is not a dupe for Coralista but it is a nice alternative to it. It is a brighter coral color and it is way less in cost.

My second order came a little messed up (I was missing something I had ordered), but I emailed ColourPop right when I opened it and realized it and they replied back within 30 minutes. Their customer service is great, and I was able to get my missing item! It came really quickly after I emailed them and I am so glad I have all four colors now!

Amy

In my first order to Colourpop I bought 3 lippie stix and a blush. I also got the free one year anniversary eyeshadow. For 5 items I only paid $22.99!! What an amazing deal!
I love KathleenLights channel on YouTube so I wanted to support her so I bought her lippie stix in the color Lumiere. It is a beautiful. If you have been searching for a great toned down everyday color this is the perfect color. I think this is going to be my new purse lipstick because it is easy to slap on and goes with every look.
I also picked up the lippie stix Toucan. I hadn't ever heard anything on this color so I was eager to get it. I wanted to try out a color that didn't have a bunch of hype around it so I could possibly introduce something new for others! Review on this lippie stix will be coming soon!
And the last shade I picked up was Heart On.  It's a beautiful dark berry color and I am in love. It looks amazing on my tan skin and I am excited to wear this color this summer!
I wanted to try one of every single different type of product that ColourPop offers and since I was getting 3 lippie stixs and an eyeshadow for free I picked up a blush! I didn't know which one to get so I picked a random one that seemed not too bold, but not too boring for my skin tone. I went with Between The Sheets and I think it was a good choice. It's a matte blush and it looks like a light pink with slight grey, purple undertones. I absolutely love it!

Overall, I had a great experience with ColourPop! They shipped my order very quickly and it came with a nice little hand written note. I am very impressed by their service and will continue to support them!

If you have tried ColourPop and have some suggestions on what I should order next, let me know! I am definitely making more orders so I could use some suggestions!

Lately I have been on a makeup buying tangent. I have been to Sephora twice and Ulta twice. It's a little crazy, but I wanted to pick up a bunch of new things to try out this summer.
