A Mixed Review

This post is semi late, but better late than never! This month I loved so many new products, and I was super excited to try them all out.

The first thing I loved this month wasn't a tangible item, but an event. I was lucky enough to be able to attend a Sephora VIB rouge event in early June with my best friend and I had the best time! Since I am VIB Rouge I was able to bring one guest so I picked my best friend to come with me. We were there for 3.5 hours getting demos, facials, and just chatting with the beauty representatives to get more info on different products! So informative, and so fun! We got so many free samples of different items, and we of course shopped a ton too. I posted a haul from the event, and you can see it here to see what I bought and more details about the event!
Another event type thing I have loved this month is spin classes! I was lucky enough to be able to take a few free spin classes at a place called Cyc Fitness and it was so fun! I had taken a spin class in the past and really disliked it, but since these classes were free I decided to take them with a few of my coworkers. OMG! I loved them so much! Not only were the teachers amazingly uplifting, encouraging, and super nice but the atmosphere of the place was so cool. The room was dark with only black lights, and colored lights on with music blasting. It was the perfect place to get in shape, and feel so great about yourself afterwards! I want to definitely sign up for more classes there in the future. Cyc Fitness is a chain gym, so click the link and see if there is one close to you! Now on to the actual makeup items I have been loving!

This month I did try out a lot of things, but these were my stand out items! The first thing I loved so much was the sample of Benefits new brow products, and it is the Goof Proof Brow Pencil. I am using shade #3 and it is so perfect for my brows. This pencil is easy to use, and adds the perfect amount of product to my brows. It is really waxy, but not too hard. I have really dark brows, and shade #3 is lighter than what I would usually go for. I realized after using it that I like using lighter colors rather than a spot on match. It is really cool toned which I also am finding out that I love. It doesn't make my eyebrows look too dark, or too crazy!
I hadn't ordered from Colourpop in a while, and earlier in the month of June/end of May I posted about a huge Colourpop order I placed. A lot of the items were new to me, and I have loved them so much! I have been loving the highlight in the color Butterfly Beach! It is a darker, rose gold highlight and looks so great on my tanned skin. If you have light medium to deep skin tones this will look amazing on you! Amazing product, and an even more amazing price! The next Colourpop product I have been loving is a super shock eyeshadow from them in the color I Heart This, and, let me say, I love this shade!! Shimmery eyeshadows are my favorite, and this one is so shimmery. It is almost shimmer overload. It is perfection! I think it is a silvery goldish color, and looks amazing on my paler self, as well as my tanner self. I love to wear it all over my lid with nothing else. And lastly, from Colourpop I have been loving their ultra satin lipsticks. I did buy 4 shades, and I do love all the colors, but my most favorite our of the four is the color Molly. It is super bright, and has helped me branch out of my comfort zone. It is a bright pink, fuchsia color with a little bit of purple in it. I definitely recommend picking up the ultra satin lipsticks. They do transfer on cups, straws, etc. but they do stay on all day. I recently wore one, and it literally lasted all day. Even after eating and drinking it still looked amazing. I will picking up KathleenLights new shades as soon as they are available on Colourpop's site!
I have been loving BECCA's highlight in Opal but in the travel liquid form. It is perfect because it looks so dewy and natural on my skin, and has an easy application. It melts right into my skin. The applicator is like a lipgloss wand so I love that I don't accidentally apply too much. Perfect for summer, and perfect for traveling.
If you saw my last post on my ipsy bag you'll have already seen my review on the Happy Hibiscus blush by Seraphine Botanicals. This blush is so amazing, and I definitely want to pick up the full size of it while ipsy has a coupon code on their site! Their site looks like it's full of amazing products, and if I buy stuff from their site I will post a haul!
And lastly of my random bit favorites is a brush by EcoTools. It is there precision blush brush and I have been loving it. It is perfect for applying blush, and bronzer. I have been using it along side with my Benefit palette, and I bought it because at the Sephora event the Benefit Cosmetics used a brush similar to this one to apply blushes to me. I loved it so much so I found this cheaper alternative. It works wonderfully! EcoTools is a great cheap brand of brushes!

Two weeks ago I attended my very first VIB Rouge event at Sephora! I became VIB Rouge last year, and I was so happy to be invited to the event. The event was  really early in the morning before the mall opened. It was a sneak peak of some new products coming out this fall. I was able to bring a guest so I bought my friend Stephanie to come with me. She is a makeup lover like myself so we had a blast swatching, and testing out new items!
I didn't purchase any of the new fall items because I wasn't sure if I really needed any of them, but the things I did pick up were things I had had my eyes on for a while.
At the event they were having demos so it was really great to ask questions and get feedback on different products. At the event there were hairstylists who work with Bumble and bumble and they were showing people who were interested how to use their different products. I have always heard people rave about Bumble and bumble but I was never willing to spend the money because the people who I knew who raved about the products had very different hair textures than me. So when they came out with their curly hair line I was so excited to try it out. A few months ago I did get a 100 point perk of the Bb. Curl (Style) Primer and I really loved it so I did pick up the full size. Well I have since run out, so while at the event I picked up another one as well a few other items the stylist showed me how to use on my hair. I also picked up the Bb. Curl (Style) Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil and the Surf Infusion spray. I am really anxious to try the gel-oil because the texture is so interesting to me, and not like anything I have ever used before. I am a little skeptical on the surf spray because that to me screams dryness and my hair needs so much moisture. The bumble and bumble sales representative that was there ensured me that it won't leave my hair dry or brittle feeling, but will add shine and help lock in moisture. Crossing my fingers it works! Will definitely review it as soon as I start using it!
So I am absolutely am addicted to my Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara, and I am sadly running out of it. I have been wanting to try other mascaras too so I picked up the Sephora favorites Lashstash To Go. I thought it seemed like a great deal because you get 5 minis of different mascaras from different brands. But along with the 5 mini mascaras there is a voucher inside the package that you can turn in for a full size of any of the 5 mascaras for free. All of the mascaras are less than $28 (the price of the kit) but I still think this is an amazing deal. Getting to try 5 mascaras then getting the full size for $28 is so great. Besides the Marc Jacobs one and Too Faced mascaras I haven't tried any of the other ones so I am excited to!
And the last thing I actually purchased was the Benefit Cosmetics Cheekathon Blush & Bronzer palette. I wasn't planning on buying this that day, but the Benefit Cosmetics representative showed my how to make my face look more sculpted using dandelion blush, hoola bronzer, and rockateur blush. Not to blow my own horn, but it looked so amazing on me so I was sold! I snatched this up, and I am so happy I did!
With my points I did pick up a 100 point perk of the Matte Creme Lip Crayon in the shade 'Glace' from Bite Beauty. I do have one already that is almost gone so I am glad they had it as a point perk. I love Bite Beauty, and I especially love their matte crayons. Not too drying, and are really comfortable on my lips. With my purchase I did make VIB Rouge status for 2017 so I got the Rouge gift which is the mini NARS blush in 'Goulue'. Super happy I made VIB Rouge status again, and excited to try a NARS blush. They're really hyped, and shockingly I have never tried a NARS blush!
Also while at the event I got a free 15 minute facial and ton of samples! I got samples of all the products that were used during my facial so that was nice. I am trying to improve my skincare routine so I was so pumped to get all those samples!

I hope Sephora has mor VIB Rouge events because I had a blast!!

This month I didn't have as many favorites as last month. Ironically all the things I am going to be writing about are all things that are new to me. I love getting new things that instantly become my favorites!


My first favorite is the Tartelette In Bloom palette, and it is so amazing! I bought it on a whim because when it first came out I didn't think about picking it up but then randomly I decided I wanted to buy it. The shades in this palette are perfect for everyday and night time looks. Literally the whole month of May I only used this palette. The only time I would use a different palette was if I wanted a pop of color, but besides that this is all I used. I even used the darks shades which is surprising because I usually shy away from dark eyeshadows. One thing I did notice about the palette is that it kind of smells like the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I don't think it is infused with cocoa powder like the Too Faced palettes so it is crazy it smells like chocolate! My most favorite colors in the palette are 'smarty pants', 'rebel', 'jetsetter', and 'rocker'. I love all the shades, but those are my standouts at the moment!
I am so glad I picked this palette up because it is easily one of my favorite palettes now!

The most hyped brand this month I think was BECCA because this month Jaclyn Hill released her extension of her Champagne Pop highlight collaboration. So as soon as trendmood announced that the Champagne Glow palette was released early on Sephora's app I instantly downloaded the app so I could buy it. Thankfully, I was able to get one because I heard it sold out so quickly!
It is the best highlight blush palette, and I can't get enough of it! I will be doing a separate full review on it in the next few weeks! But so far, I am absolutely loving it!

I gave a review on the Hanalei Lip Treatment in my ipsy bag review, so if you want a more in depth review go read about it here. But I got this lip treatment in my ipsy bad, and I am loving it so much! It is perfect for making my lips feel smooth and not look cracked or crusty. I think it'll be perfect when winter comes too. As soon as I run out of this I will be buying the full size. Luckily ipsy offer's discount codes for all the brands that are featured in that month's bag. These were the only products this month that were really stand outs for me. I stuck with my usual makeup routine, and I wasn't really wowed by anything else this month. I just made two makeup orders for a few things, so I am ready to test out some new things for June! I have my eye on a few new things coming out I want to test out!

I apologize for the lack of posts this month! I have been super busy, but I promise the next few weeks will make up for the past few. I have a lot of great posts coming, so be ready!
And I also want to thank you all for 200 subscribers! I feel like my blog is such a great outlet for me, so I love that so many others want to share it with me.
But onto the post!



So I first heard about Ciate London because I knew of their nail polish, but then I heard Joanna AKA bronzedbeautyyy on YouTube rave about the  Olivia Palermo x Ciate London lipstick in the shade 'praline'. Since I really love her channel, and her style I decided to pick it up too. I usually like what Joanna wears since she is a tad darker than me I know what looks good on her will most likely look similar on me.
I am so glad I picked it up!! It is the most perfect dark nude shade. It is so creamy, and it lasts all day. When I wore it to work I got a bunch of really nice compliments, and after drinking a bunch of water and eating lunch it was still on my lips at the end of the day. I was so amazed! I didn't think it would fade easily, but I didn't expect it to last through so much. It is comfortable on my lips as well. I didn't feel like my lips were the least bit dry.
Because I loved the Ciate London lipstick so much I wanted to branch out and try other makeup from this brand. Besides Joanna I haven't heard anyone speak on this brand at all! I wanted to give a brand with not a lot of hype a chance because it could really be amazing. So I picked up the Olivia Palermo Smokey Suedes palette. It is so great!! This brand really is seriously underrated. The shadows in this palette are pigmented, really soft, and glide on my eyelids effortlessly. Then when I saw trendmood1 was talking about Ciate on her snap story I was so shocked! She was talking about the new palettes that Ciate was coming out with, and as soon as they were live on Sephora's site I snatched one up! I decided on The Fun Palette. I wanted this bright palette because I have plenty of neutral palettes, and I love the pops of color this palette has! The packaging of the palettes is so ideal for traveling. They're small and compact and will fit in any makeup bag! I love the outside of The Fun Palette so much because how it has the moving eyes depending on the angle you hold it at. When I see the eyes on the front it reminds me of The Great Gatsby. If you have read the book, or seen the movie you will know the reference!
I love Ciate London so much more now that I discovered their amazing makeup line. But with great things comes a few cons. So the first con I have is the shape of the pans. They are a little weird shaped so it can be difficult to get your brush in. Another con I found with these palettes are the lack of names printed on the actual palette. To know the names you have to actually keep the boxes they come in because the names are printed on the boxes. I don't understand why they did that and it is pretty annoying, but I can look past it. It's nothing major. And another thing to remember if you chose to buy the Olivia Palermo palettes is that they are in the same exact packaging. So if you are in a hurry and grab one you could be grabbing the wrong one.

This is a little late, and the sale is now over, but I wanted to post it anyways for future shopping trip ideas. 
Here are the things I picked up on the last day of the sale!

The first thing I picked up is the Sephora Favorites 'Power of the Petal' set. It is a set of skincare products all made with or from plants, flowers, and fruits. To be honest, I only bought it because I wanted the Tsubaki beauty oil from boscia. I am glad I have that beauty oil because I have heard rave reviews on it. And I love miniature sized products for travel so having this set is great! Sadly this set is sold out now, but sometimes the Sephora favorites are sold out online but are still in stores. If you want this set check your local Sephora!
Like I mentioned in my last Sephora haul post I recently got a z palette and I want to fill it up so I bought two more Anastasia Beverly Hills shades. This time I got a beautiful matte shade called 'caramel'. It's a nice warm toned brown and will be perfect for the crease. I picked up another metallic shimmery shade called 'metal'. I think it'll look great when I am tan this summer!
Speaking of summer, I had to buy the Hourglass Ambient bronzer in Luminous Bronze. Kathleen Lights talked about how this bronzer was amazing and made her skin look glowy and bronzed like J Lo. So if Kathleen recommended it I had to pick it up!
Color correcting is all the rage these days so I had to pick up some kind of color correcting product. Since I am new to the color correcting world, and I don't have really any problem areas so I got the Color Correcting Stick by Smashbox. I got the 'look less tired' pencil in the peach color to see if I can cover my light dark circles. Hoping it works!
I have been really interested in Korres skincare since I had a sample of their Greek Yoghurt facial cleanser. Again, like mentioned in my last Sephora post I am obsessing over rose scents so I bought the Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. I want to improve my skincare routine and help my skin be at it's best. So since I usually like to use gels at night, and not creams I only bought the sample size of this to test it before I commit to the full size!
The last things I picked up were lipsticks! I picked up the new Amuse Bouche lipstick in 'Honeycomb'. The hype around these lipsticks is so real so I wanted to be apart of the hype. The other lipstick I bought was Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Satin Kiss Lipstick in 'Praline'. I bought this because Joanna from BronzedBeautyyy on YouTube spoke so highly of it. No one speaks of the Ciate beauty line so I am eager to try it out! I even ordered one of their eyeshadow palettes to do a Ciate brand review post.

 Sorry for the absence from my blog for the past two weeks. I have been very busy with my personal life but I am back! So for a great post back I am posting a haul!
If you are living under a rock, and haven't heard it's the Sephora VIB Rouge then you need to stop reading right now and go to your closest Sephora store!
I am VIB Rouge, and was able to go on the vey first day for first access. I originally had an over $200 list of items I wanted but I decided to control myself and only buy things I genuinely wanted/needed. I am so happy with all my purchases!
I love perfumes, and have been obsessed with rose scent recently so I grabbed the Roses De Chloe rollerball. It is such a beautiful scent, and I am most definitely going to buy the full size when I run out of this rollerball!
As you saw in my last Ulta haul I picked up a Buxom full-on lip cream, and since I loved it so much (full review coming soon) I picked up another one. I grabbed the shade 'Hot Toddy', and it the perfect nude color for my lips. I had my eye on it when I bought Mai Tai, and now that I have it I am so excited. I want to pick up even more colors in the future!
For my birthday one gift I received was an empty z-palette which was too excited for because I have been wanting some of the Anastasia Beverly Hills single pans. I picked up two shades to go in my z-palette. I love the ABH shadows so much!! I plan on filling my whole z-palette with them. I got the shades 'Gleam' and 'Electro'. Oh em gee I am obsessed!! Electro looks bright purple in the pan but has a blue/pink iridescent shine. It is so beautiful. It might be my new favorite eyeshadow which is saying a lot because I usually only love neutrals!
And the last thing I bought is the Sephora Double-Ended Blemish Extractor. I bought it so I could start steaming my face and using it to clear out the blackheads on my nose. I used it once, and I didn't see much results, but maybe I didn't steam my face long enough. My cousin said that extractors really work, so I am excited to keep using it to see more results!

The last couple things I got were point perk items, and a free item for being VIB rouge status. From the point perks I grabbed the new GLAMGLOW peel off mask which I am beyond excited to try, and I got the new Estee Edit 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser. It has good reviews so I am eager to test it out. And the last little perk I got is a Sephora makeup tote. This is my first year being VIB Rouge so I was very happy to be able to get a tote from being at that status.

I am going back to Sephora with my cousin to shop, and will probably pick up a few more items so I will be posting a part 2 haul post!
